WHITE RABBIT FESTIVAL OF SHOWCASES
Exchange Theatre - June 2024

We so proud of all who took part this year, in the most ambitious showcase yet! 2 evenings of brand new plays, devised, designed and performed by White Rabbit Drama pupils that involved; more creative freedom than ever before during the devising process, pre-recorded voices, puppetry, physical theatre and use of auditorium and stage to share our stories. Our final show this year saw audience up on their feet and dancing to the "Macarena' with aliens and it was truly one of the most joyful moments of White Rabbit to witness this from the wings. Their confidence in interacting with audience and playing live on stage was amazing to see.

3 clubs performed each night, with no more than 20 per cast and tickets for up to 4 friends and family included making this as inclusive & accessible as possible regardless of family budget.

Feeling relaxed is one of the most important aspects of acting and in order for the children to feel calm, confident and non-pressured, we offer independent rehearsal time in the theatre for each group, with their regular facilitators and a supportive Exchange technician, at a time that works for them.

How does Showcase work?

Feeling relaxed is one of the most important aspects of acting and in order for the children to feel calm, confident and non-pressured, we offer independent rehearsal time in the theatre for each group, with their regular facilitators and a supportive Exchange technician, at a time that works for them.

Showcase is a non-profit event and with the support of parents, the Exchange, and our friends in the arts community, we charge no more than £50* per child to take part in the experience. This is a one off payment, including additional time spent with experienced, qualified facilitators, tech, venue hire and up to 4 tickets to the show per family. In keeping with our ethos there are no 'hidden extras' and we also offer bursaries for those who need, making this an open and inclusive event for all to enjoy, regardless of their means.

*For our partner school, St Mary's C of E, Twickenham, the cost is £60 as we extend sessions from school site to the Exchange, collecting children in small groups led by first aid trained, experienced chaperones.

London New Years Day Parade
On 1st January 2020, White Rabbit joined forces with dance troupes, a marching band, horses from Royal Parks and the Mayor, in representing the Borough of Richmond Upon Thames at LNYDP 2020. Team Richmond secured 2nd place in the Parade's Borough Competition, winning £9000 for the Mayoral charities and footage of the event was captured by US TV channels and London Live. We're so delighted to have been part of this amazing experience and so proud of the children who joined us and took part with such confidence in front of thousands of spectators - what an incredible achievement!
